On August 27, from sunrise to midnight, enjoy events all over campus. 


First Friday Festival is a new tradition coming to WT that will occur on the first Friday of the semester. Students will be able to participate in events, make new friends, and experience student life like never before. Grab a friend and come on out!

7:17 - 8:17 a.m. Sunrise Workout J.A. Hill Chapel Lawn (East side of Old Main)

Rise and Shine! Power up your morning with an exhilarating workout.

8 a.m. - Noon Chalk at Spirit Rock In front of Spirit Rock and Old Main  Bring out the artist in you and chalk on the sidewalk around Old Main. This year's theme: "Before I Graduate...". You can win Buff Cash too! 
9 a.m. - Noon Student Spotlight on the Old Main Stage Pedestrian Mall WT Students are the best students in all of West Texas. Check out their talents and more at the Student Spotlight Stage.
10 a.m. - Noon Go Wild with Exotic Animals  Pedestrian Mall  Pet a few furry and exotic animals from the Amarillo Zoo.
11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tie-Dye Ta-Da Island behind Buff Hall We've never met a tie-dye shirt we didn't like. Get your tie-dye on with Residential Living. Free t-shirts for the first 2000 students (sizes permitting). 
Noon - 1 p.m. Lunch & Listen J.A. Hill Chapel Lawn (East side of Old Main) Enjoy yummy sandwiches from Which Wich while listening to

1 - 3 p.m. Cornhole Competition Front of Buffalo Stadium Are you competitive? Get ready for an epic cornhole competition. The winner's names will be displayed at Buffalo Stadium.
2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Slip 'N Slide to the Pool Party! All Across Campus  Find a slip 'n slide and slide your way to the pool party at the Activity Center (AC).
3 - 5 p.m. Pool Party at the AC Activity Center  Life is better by the pool. Swim and hang out with your friends with Instagram-worthy mocktails. 
5 - 8 p.m. Food Trucks 'N Fun Parking Lot Between PPHM & Old Main (West side of Old Main) Who doesn't love a good food truck? Dig in with Pepitos, Tanks Burgers, Purple Famingo Pops, Canyon Popcorn Company & Kona Ice. Prep your wallets and head over to the food trucks. 
6 - 9 p.m. Festival Concert: Live Music  Old Ed Lawn (West side of Old Main)

While you're filling your stomachs, let your ears indulge in some quality performances by Lane Coffman, Weston Wilkerson, and Travis Roberts & the Willing Few. 

You are welcome to bring a lawn chair or a blanket. 

9 - 11 p.m. Late Night Movie in Legacy Hall JBK Legacy Hall (Located inside the JBK Student Center) No need to go to the swamp. Show up for a showing of Shrek and a custom popcorn bar. 
11 - 12 a.m. Glow Buffs Glow Volleyball  Buffalo Sports Park - Sand Volleyball Court Dominate your peers and "glow-t" your way to the top in a stiff game of volleyball. Tunes and trophies will be included. 
 11:15 p.m. - 1 a.m. Make S'More Friends at the Fountain  Buffalo Fountain  Be part of a NEW tradition on campus while savoring on some delicious s'mores.
