Spirit & Dedication
After a fire in 1914 destroyed the Administration Building, President R. B. Cousins declared that great institutions don't burn. “If West Texas State is nothing more than brick and mortar,” he said, “it ought to die.” The WTAMU community eagerly pledged their support. That spirit and loyalty is still evident today. Your dedication to the University and students is the “more than brick and mortar” that President Cousins spoke of more than 100 years ago. You’re leaving a lasting impression that will transcend time; you’re empowering students and others to “Discover the BUFF in You!”
