Our Talent Search program has been hosted by WTAMU and has been funded by the U.S. Department of Education in five-year cycles since 2002.
We serve 503 students annually.
We provide a variety of invaluable services to our students.
- Advice & assistance in high school course selection
- Academic, financial, career, and personal counseling including advice on entry into postsecondary programs (college/university)
- Exposure to college campuses, cultural experiences, leadership opportunities, and other developmental programs
- Assistance in completing college admissions applications
- Information on federal student financial aid programs & benefits, scholarships, and assistance in completing applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams (ACT/SAT)
- Mentoring program referrals
- Workshops and referrals for families of participants
- Information and activities designed to expose participants to a range of career options
