Every Upward Bound Math-Science student participates in the program year round for the rest of their high school career.

During the Academic Year, we offer an array of activities and services.

In-School Advising

Program advisors visit each target school weekly and conduct advising services with each student. During these advising sessions, students will discuss their current grades and academic progress, their career interests, their extracurricular involvement, and their interests in STEM fields. All students will follow an Individual Learning Plan during these advising sessions that will help increase their success in the classroom and provide a strategic plan for college and career exploration.

Academic Saturdays

On one Saturday of each month for six (6) months of the academic year, students will be bussed to WTAMU campus for additional academic development, career exploration, college program exploration, financial literacy, STEM exposure, and more. Academic Saturdays may include field trips to local post-secondary institutions and community organizations for additional career exploration opportunities. Students are given the Academic Saturday schedule (with transportation information) at the beginning of each academic year.
