Foreign Credential Evaluation Services

A foreign credential evaluation report converts individual course grades, overall GPA, institutional accreditation, degree and high school completion to US equivalence.

If you attended a non-US institution, you will need to obtain a foreign credential evaluation report from one of the below university-approved agencies.

Please be sure to check the list below of agencies for the type and name of the required report that you will need to request.

If you attended a US institution and never attended a non-US institution, you will not need a foreign credential evaluation report. Please note: we will not satisfy this requirement until we have reviewed your transcripts.

Freshmen:

• Your senior/upper secondary transcripts and/or high school completion certificates must be evaluated
• If you have any post-secondary (university/community college) coursework or credit, that must also be evaluated

Many countries issue a certificate with senior/upper secondary examination grades included on the certificate. In general, WT and evaluation agencies will need this certificate with the grades included, but not necessarily the transcripts issued by the school you attended.

Examples include the WAEC (West African Examinations Council), A-Levels, O-Levels, and others. If your certificate does not include grades, you will need to submit transcripts or documentation of senior secondary grades in addition to the completion certificate.

Transfer:

• All post-secondary (university/community college) transcripts must be evaluated

This includes transcripts for coursework that was transferred to another institution.

Graduate & Second Bachelor:

• All post-secondary transcripts must be evaluated, including bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and all other post-secondary transcripts.
• All degree completion certificates and all post-secondary diplomas and certificates must be evaluated

This includes transcripts for which no degree or diploma was awarded and transcripts for coursework that was transferred to another institution.

Each agency has its own process and requirements.

Have the agency send your evaluation report to West Texas A&M University directly. For some agencies, you will be able to select West Texas A&M University as a recipient. For others, you will need to have them send it to us via email or physical mail.

Please note: we do not accept unofficial evaluations submitted by students. Evaluations must be submitted to WTAMU by the agency directly.
