Tammy is a passionate and highly skilled Nursing Instructor who brings over a decade of experience in nursing education and clinical practice to her role. She began her nursing journey by earning an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Amarillo College in 2014, laying the foundation for her career in healthcare. Tammy then graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University in December 2021 and earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University in 2025. Her academic achievements reflect her commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.

Tammy’s dedication to academic excellence and leadership in nursing has been recognized through her selection into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, a prestigious organization honoring nursing scholarship, leadership, and service. Additionally, she is a proud member of Mu Alpha Theta, the national mathematics honor society, further demonstrating her strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Tammy’s achievements also include receiving a Capstone Excellence Award, which highlights her exceptional contributions to nursing education and practice.

Tammy is extensively trained in Poverty Training, Success Coach Training, and Mental Health First Aid, equipping her with the tools to support diverse learners with empathy and understanding. She has presented HESI training for Critical Thinking to enhance students' decision-making skills, conducted Amarillo College Education Summit (ACES) training, and played an active role in preparing students for success by leading student orientations.
