Professional Profile

I am a Registered Nurse with 12 years of experience in clinical practice and nursing education. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) in 2013, followed by my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with an emphasis in Nursing Education in 2017. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, with anticipated graduation in December 2025. I am also working toward certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE-RN), further demonstrating my commitment to trauma-informed and compassionate care.

Since 2018, I have taught a variety of undergraduate nursing courses, including Nursing Concepts, Pharmacology, Health Assessment, and Pathophysiology. I also teach in the Summer I Nursing Skills course as one of the clinical instructors. As the Junior 1 Level Leader, I oversee both classroom and clinical instruction, coordinate team schedules, lead meetings, assist in assessment development, and serve as a primary point of contact for student and faculty support.

I earned the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential in 2021 and the Certified Nurse Educator – Clinical (CNE®-cl) credential in 2022. I also hold the Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) credential. In my role as Clinical Liaison between WTAMU and Northwest Texas Healthcare System (NWTH), I work to maintain strong academic-practice partnerships and facilitate high-quality student clinical experiences.

Dedicated to mentoring and empowering nursing students, I provide individualized academic support, maintain an open-door policy, and actively contribute to program development and collaborative faculty initiatives. I also serve as a certified CPR instructor, ensuring students are prepared for emergency care situations.

My DNP project focuses on improving confidence and competence in clinical nursing faculty through simulation-based training and structured evaluation practices. The goal of this initiative is to strengthen clinical teaching consistency, enhance faculty development, and ultimately improve student learning outcomes.

I am an active member of several professional organizations, including the Texas Nurses Association (TNA), American Nurses Association (ANA), International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), National League for Nursing (NLN), Sigma Theta Tau – Delta Delta Chapter, and the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN).
