Employment Information
Employment for mechanical engineers is projected to grow by 4% between 2018-2028 and thus prospects are expected to be favorable, particularly for “those with training in the latest software tools, particularly for computational design and simulation” and for those with “training in three-dimensional printing”.1
The median wage for mechanical engineers across the United States is $88,430.1 (May 2019). The median wage for mechanical engineers across the state of Texas is $94,580.2 (May 2019).
