Math Lab

The Math Lab in Classroom Center room 411 provides students with tutoring in math courses utilizing a study hall environment. We tutor students in freshman and sophomore level math courses, this includes all math classes from a developmental mathematics courses in Beginning Algebra through Calculus 2. We are an open access lab so students do not need an appointment to come in for tutoring. Students can independently work on their math homework, study for math exams, get assistance on math course assignments, and meet with study groups in the Math Lab. We also provide math textbooks for in-lab use and we provide calculators that students can check out for a 2hr time period for exams. The goal of the Math Lab is to help students succeed in their mathematics courses at WT. We assess our success by the pass rates and GPA of Math Lab regulars (10+visits/semester) and 98% of our Math Lab Regulars pass their math class with an A, B, or C average. The Math Lab is the winner of the 2012 Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Star Award.
