Professional Profile

Dr. Askarian joined the College of Engineering in Fall 2021. He received his B.S., and his first M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Shiraz University, Iran. He received his second M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical engineering from Texas Tech University in 2020, and 2021 respectively.

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Askarian teaches electrical engineering courses, especially those related to electronics and renewable energy. He has taught courses such as Digital Design, Measurements and Instrumentation, Wind Energy Turbines, Linear Integrated Circuits and Application, and Electronic Devices and Circuits. He is the author of two books: Multimedia, and Learning Fluent.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Askarian's research interests include Renewable energy, Machine learning, Image/Signal processing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Biomedical engineering. He authored and co-authored several journal articles and conference proceeding papers. He currently holds two patents for developing novel diagnostic tools for eye disease detection using smartphones.
