Competition Details

The SIAM Calculus Bowl comprises two rounds: the preliminary round and the elimination round. In the preliminary round, players will answer 20 multiple-choice questions at the precalculus level. The top eight players with the most correct answers will advance to the next round. In case of a tie, the player with the shorter completion time progresses.

The elimination round is a one-on-one competition at the Calculus I & II level. It consists of four quarter-final games, two semi-final games, and one final game. Each game involves the simultaneous presentation of 4 questions to both players, one question at a time. If a player correctly answers a question or neither player can answer within 2 minutes, the question concludes. If the first answer is incorrect, the other player may attempt to answer if time permits. After 3 questions, the player with the most correct answers advances. In the event of a tie, question 4 will be presented, and the player with the closest answer moves forward. If the closeness is equal, the faster player wins.
