Freshman Applicants

Students who do not meet published requirements will be reviewed for admission on a competitive, individual basis, with weighted consideration of class rank and standardized test scores (ACT or SAT). We encourage all students to apply for admission.  

The ACT School Code is 4250 and the SAT School Code is 6938.

• Texas residents attending public schools will also be required to have taken and passed all sections of the EOC test.

Students under the age of 22 and entering a higher education institution are asked to receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis by Texas Law. Certain criteria may exclude students from the requirement, please contact the Admissions Office at 806-651-2020 for information.

If you attend a private high school in Texas or a Department of Defense High School, you must also meet one of the following:

Curriculum that is of equivalent rigor and content to the Foundation, Distinguished with Endorsements or Distinguished Level of Achievement diploma type

or similar college preparatory program or achieve minimum benchmark scores on the ACT or SAT:

• Official SAT Scores: at least 480 for EBRW and 530 for Math
• Official ACT scores: at least 18 English, 22 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 23 Science

Your school official can submit one of the forms below to certify your completion of equivalent coursework.

The forms below can be printed and submitted via the instructions on the form.

HB 3826 Exemption Form

• Form 1 (for students who did NOT complete IPC prior to 2010-2011)
• Form 2 (for students who completed IPC Prior to 2010-2011)
• Form 3 (for students graduating under the Foundation High School Program in 2014-2015 or later)

Once your application, scores and transcript have been reviewed, you will receive a letter notifying you of your admission status.
