Texas Public/Private High School Students
Students in Texas who are attending a public or private high school may take university core courses, enrolling in exactly the same sections and with the same professors as WT freshman students. Students will take courses through a pre-existing agreement between their high school and West Texas A&M University.
Texas Homeschool Students
Texas homeschool students have the opportunity to augment their high school curriculum with university courses that will meet core requirements for a bachelor's degree. Students will be taking the same courses taught by the same professors as traditional freshman students.
Non-Texas Students (Public/Private/Homeschool)
The Pre-University Program for Out-of-State Students gives high school students the opportunity to take high quality university online courses at a deeply discounted tuition rate and to build a college transcript from one of the nation's best undergraduate online programs. As part of The Texas A&M University System, WTAMU brings credibility and instructional rigor by providing online students with access to the exact same courses offered on campus.
Pre-Engineering Students (Canyon ISD Only)
This special selection of 4 engineering courses gives students early access to the field of engineering, with hands-on experiences (in campus engineering labs) and instruction (by university engineering professors). Students will take their courses on the WTAMU campus, with university students. This program is by special arrangement with Canyon Independent School District and is available to CISD students who have met the math prerequisites.
- Must be approved by CISD (Canyon or Randall HS)
- Must be able to attend classes on WT campus
- Is expected to participate in appropriate dual credit course sequencing with Amarillo College
