Professional Profile
Dr. Denham joined the College of Education and Social Sciences in 2019 after working in special education for 11 years. She received her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2014 from WTAMU, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a certification as a Reading Specialist in 2017, A Master of Education in Educational Diagnostician in 2018, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in 2022.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Denham teaches Children with Special Needs, the Science of Teaching Reading, and is a Cohort Leader for the Texas Reading Academies. She is a facilitator for WTAMU’s Alternative Certification Program (PACE) and is the Chapter Counselor for KDP, the premier National Professional Association and Honor Society for Educators.
Dr. Denham also holds a national certification with the Academic Language Therapy Association as a certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). She is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, Delta Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta Pi, International Literacy Association, International Dyslexia Association, and the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET).
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Denham’s research interests include literacy, exceptional children, communication, and dyslexia and related disorders.
