Professional Profile

Dr. Williams graduated from West Texas State University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 2005, she earned a Masters of Education from WTAMU and in 2012, a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from Texas Tech University.

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Williams teaches Integrated English Language Arts/Social studies methods, Children’s Literature, Reading, Structured Literacy, and Early Childhood courses. She serves as director of the Williams Children’s Literature Collection and Reading Room and is a faculty sponsor for Kappa Delta Phi education honor society.

Dr. Williams is a member of the International Reading Association, National Council of Teachers of English, National Council for the Social Studies, and ASCD.

Research and Creative Activity 

Dr. Williams’s research interests include multicultural children’s literature and integrating English language arts in content subject areas.
