Graduate School Scholarships

Students pursuing a graduate degree are welcome to apply for scholarships at West Texas A&M University through the Graduate School. You must have a Buffalo Gold Card number in order to submit the scholarship application (if you are a new applicant to WT, this number will be provided once your application is processed by the Graduate School office).

Spring 2021

For consideration, please make sure you submit the general scholarship application for the 2020-2021 academic year as a graduate student (you will not show up on the list if you do not choose “graduate” on the scholarship application.) The majority of our funds are need-based, so be sure to also submit the FAFSA for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Awards for spring 2021 will be offered as funds are available.

Fall 2021 and Spring 2022

For consideration, please make sure you submit the general scholarship application for the 2021-2022 academic year as a graduate student (you will not show up on the list if you do not choose “graduate” on the scholarship application.) The majority of our funds are need-based, so be sure to also submit the FAFSA for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Awards for fall 2021 and spring 2022 will be offered as funds are available, with reviews beginning in May 2021.

Summer Scholarships

Awards for the summer are made based on the availability of funds. Contact the Graduate School beginning in April to get your name on the list for consideration.

Scholarship Deadlines and Requirements

The priority date for all University scholarships is Feb. 1 for the next academic year. Awards will be made based on the availability of funds. Students must be in a graduate degree-seeking program, registered for a minimum of six (6) hours in the upcoming semester, and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in graduate coursework to be considered for awards.

The Graduate School only has eligible scholarship funds for graduate degree-seeking students at this time and will not be able to award second bachelor or non-degree seeking students. However, we still encourage you to submit the general scholarship application for potential consideration by other offices.
