Application and Admission Steps
The Graduate School is committed to promoting graduate study at West Texas A&M University. Our Graduate School academic advisors serve as liaisons for all prospective graduate students. We are happy to assist you with any questions that you may have.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information: Graduate School is closely monitoring the current coronavirus pandemic. Our admission process for the summer and fall 2020 semesters is proceeding normally. We remain committed to you and your choice to apply to West Texas A&M University.

Prepare

Some admission requirements apply to all graduate applicants, but often, there are program specific requirements that you must also submit. Please take time to review the program’s admission requirements and deadlines before you begin the application process.

For International applicants:

Apply

Graduate students who want to apply to WTAMU and take advantage of the waived application fee, should apply before May 31, 2020. Please use the WTAMU Graduate School Application and select “fee waiver” for your payment type.

Once you have prepared your application materials, you should submit your online graduate school application and application materials. If at any time you have questions concerning the application process or submission of materials, please contact us.

Submit the Graduate School Application  

First, you should complete and submit your application to the Graduate School. To do so, you should complete only one of the following applications:

The Texas Common Application (Choose to apply using the Grad U.S. application) 
- or -
The WTAMU Graduate School Application

NOTE: International applicants should apply to Graduate School through the International Student Office

  • Applications for graduate admissions require a non-refundable application fee ($40)
  • Applications for International admissions require a non-refundable application fee ($90)

Decision

After you have submitted your graduate school application, you will receive an acknowledgement email with your Buffalo Gold Card Number. This number will serve as your student identification number. You will receive both email and letter correspondence detailing any missing documentation required to complete your application.

After you have submitted all of your admissions documents, we will send your application to the program for review. Please await your admissions decision, but feel free to check your application status with us. For most programs, the wait time after your application is submitted for review is approximately three weeks, but this can vary depending on the program.

2020 WTAMU Cares Graduate Scholarship Program for $2,020

The 2020 WTAMU Cares Graduate Scholarship Program for $2,020 is created to support candidates seeking graduate studies in a time of volatility with respect to employment opportunities. Eligibility for this one-time tuition scholarship of $2020 is for the first 200 qualified students who complete their full graduate program application package, along with the online scholarship application, to the WTAMU Graduate School between March 15, 2020 and midnight on May 31, 2020 CST. Awarded students must enroll in a new graduate degree-seeking program at West Texas A&M University for the summer 1, summer 2, or fall 2020 semesters. Awarded funds will be spread over a minimum of two academic semesters.

Application Fee Waived

Federal Need-Based Aid
