Professional Profile

Dr. Behl joined the College of Education and Social Sciences in 2016. She received her BA in Psychology, Sociology, and Economics from Christ University India in 2010, an M.A. in Counseling – Professional and School from Lindenwood University in 2013, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Toledo in 2016.

Dr. Behl is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Intern in Texas, a Licensed Professional Counselor (Ohio), and a Licensed School Counselor (Ohio). She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Behl teaches Testing/Assessments, Helping Skills, Practicum, Theories in Counseling, Group Counseling, and Career Counseling.

Dr. Behl has co-authored a chapter in the book Foundations of Addictions Counseling.

Dr. Behl is a member of the American Counseling Association, American College Counseling Association, and Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors.

Research and Creative Activity 

Dr. Behl’s research interests include international student acculturation, the experience of immigrants, supervision for school counselors, school counseling in different nations, international students in counseling programs, genograms use in individual counseling, substance use amongst high school and college students, and the use of solution-focused brief therapy.
