Dr. Michelle DeWitt

Dr. Michelle DeWitt is an accomplished education professional with sixteen years of diverse experience spanning from special education, counseling, coaching, and administrative roles. Currently serving as the Superintendent at Lyford Consolidated Independent School District in Lyford, TX, Dr. DeWitt is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and positive learning environments. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated expertise in administrative leadership, curriculum development, staff development, community engagement and policy. Dr. DeWitt has delivered impactful presentations at prestigious conferences, such as the Texas Council of Women School Executives (TCWSE) and the National Forum to Advance Rural Education. In addition to an extensive professional history, Dr. DeWitt obtained her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in May 2023. Dr. DeWitt has a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas Pan American. She also holds a School Counselor Certification. Active in various professional memberships, Dr. DeWitt is a member of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), and the Council of Women School Executives (TCWSE). Dr. DeWitt's unwavering commitment to students' success continues to shape the future of education in the district, leaving a lasting and positive impact.
