Dr. Gerri M. Maxwell

Gerri M. Maxwell, PhD, is sole proprietor of Gerico Educational Services (since 2006) and retired December 2023 as Professor & Chair of Educational Leadership at TAMU Corpus Christi after 18 years in the TAMU system across three institutions. She has 42 years of service in the Texas Teacher Retirement system as a K-12 classroom teacher, administrator and as a tenured professor and academic. She has garnered $30+ million in Texas Education Agency funding in support of predominantly high need rural schools in central and south Texas. Her research interests and scholarship includes a focus on rural education, school turnaround, and advocate for women in particular across her 40+ peer reviewed publications, 40+ national presentations, & 42 dissertations supported to completion. She has served on the National Rural Education diversity team both as chair and member for a decade+. Most recently she served as editor of Los Voces Nuevas: Emerging Scholarship on Latinas in Leadership, the CEDER journal published by the TAMUCC COEHD.
