Dr. John O'Connor

John O'Connor holds an Educational Doctorate from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY, complemented by a School District Administration Certificate from Canisius College. He earned a Master of Science in Education from the State University College of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Business-Finance from The University of Buffalo. With a wealth of educational experience spanning three decades, John is currently serving as the Superintendent of Schools for the Forestville Central School District. Dr. O’Connor is in his 20th year as superintendent and has spent a majority of this time working in rural education. Prior to his current role, John served as the Assistant Superintendent for Management Services at Erie 2 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES for a decade. In this capacity, he oversaw a $105 million budget, managed various capital projects, and provided financial leadership to component district Superintendents and Business Administrators. Before his BOCES role, John gained valuable experience as an Elementary School Principal, Business Administrator, and Director of Special Education. John has also contributed to the field of education through his role as an Adjunct Instructor at SUNY Fredonia, where he shared his expertise in school finance with graduate students. He is currently an adjunct professor at D’Youville University where he teaches school law & finance in the Doctoral Program. An avid Buffalo Bills fan, Dr. O’Connor resides just outside Buffalo New York with his wife Rebecca and dog Samantha.
