Events in Handshake

Did you know about the events in Handshake? These events are hosted by the career office, and also EMPLOYERS! That’s right, employers can host events (mostly virtual) that are open to you as a WT student.  

Events include things like panels of professionals speaking on industry related hiring, hiring events, and even how to curate a resume for specific companies hosted by that company. Utilizing these events listed in Handshake will help you land a job you’re excited about or maybe you’ll hear about a company or job you could be interested in. Be sure to register for events. That will allow you to get notifications and reminders about the event in your email.  

The events hosted by the Office of Career and Professional Development at WT are also listed in Handshake. We can give you tips for the job search, resume basics, and my personal favorite, interviewing! Note: You can also find career fairs in the events section. Be sure to set your filters to focus in on what you’re looking for and use the flag feature to save things to come back to later.  

Check out the events, add them to your calendar, and/or set a reminder in your phone. Pro tip: set a reminder for a few days before, too, so you don’t forget to plan accordingly.
