The Professors Emeriti Room was built in 2006 to honor faculty members who dedicated their lives and made significant contributions to their students, to the teaching profession and to West Texas A&M University.
The elegantly, yet comfortably furnished room, complete with working fireplace, is a sanctuary for our most distinguished retired faculty members and a permanent home to a very special collection of books.
Professors Emeriti who were living at the time the room was completed and new inductees each year since have been invited to donate and inscribe a book, new or used, that has some personal meaning to them. These books, along with the memories of these extraordinary educators, will grace the shelves of this room as a constant reminder of our rich history and the traditions of teaching excellence we continue to enjoy here at West Texas A&M University today.
