Pre-Communication Disorders (Major Code: 239)

Students with freshman or sophomore credit hours are included in the Pre-Communication Disorders program.  The Survey of Communication Disorders course (CD 2373) is the student's first exposure to terminology and professional activities in the field.

Senior students will take Clinical Observation and Professional Writing in Communication Disorders (CD 4374), which allows students to observe professionals in the field working with clients. 25 hours of observation is required to start the graduate-level program.

Prior to applying to the Communication Disorders program at the junior level, please refer to the Pre-CD course check-list to ensure that you have all your CORE courses complete.

To apply to the Communication Disorders program at the Junior level, you are required to have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. You will need to contact Dr. Brian Spencer (pspencer@wtamu.edu) to get an application to the undergraduate CD program. Applications are due by April 1st of each year.  Our program only admits during the fall semester; however, CORE courses may be completed in the summer before the admission fall.
