Professional Profile

Rick joined the Sport and Exercise Sciences Department as an Instructor in 2005. He received a B.S. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Panhandle State University in 198, a M.Ed. from Northeastern State University in 1991, and an Ed.D. from Texas Tech University in 2019.

Teaching and Related Service

Haasl teaches courses in pedagogy including Principles of Instruction and Instructional Methodology. Haasl also teaches courses in the SES Graduate Program including Legal and Ethical Issues, Sport Marketing and Leadership in Sport Administration.

Haasl also serves as an advisor to more than 60 advisees who are majoring in both SES and Health Sciences.

Haasl also serves as a Faculty Advisor in the Advising Services Department and as the Faculty Sponsor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Research and Creative Activity

Haasl's research interests include leadership, communication and all areas of sport management. His favorite creative activities are writing and public speaking.
