West Texas A&M University's rock climbing tower is 40 feet tall and is fashioned after the Light House rock structure in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The tower has paths for amateurs and experts, so everyone with an adventurous spirit can give it a try. There are 6 climbing routes - 4 ropes and 2 auto belays and a large bouldering area. To assist you in your journey we have new harnesses, new climbing shoes, new ropes and MORE!

EVERYTHING IS FREE! All you have to do is show up looking for a fun climb, a challenge, or just to meet new climbing friends.

To assist you, we will offer the "Mile High Club". You can register (free) and keep your log of climbs during the semester. When you reach 5,280' (132 climbs) you get a great looking T-shirt and certificate of achievement. You have all semester to reach your goal beginning the 1st day of class and ending at finals. Other ways to learn and enjoy the tower are belay clinics and one on one tutoring from our excellent Climbing Tower Staff.

For more information regarding group rentals, please call Outdoor Pursuits at (806)651-2353, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
