
Dr. Rick Haasl
Vice Provost for Enrollment Management
Dr. Rick Haasl, a 23-year veteran of West Texas A&M University, was named Vice Provost for Enrollment Management on May 1, 2025. His responsibilities include coordinating and directing all activities related to recruiting, admissions, and enrollment of new students. He oversees all aspects of student recruitment, admissions, and financial aid.
Dr. Haasl's career at WTAMU is a story of continuous growth and achievement. He started as an assistant football coach in 2002, transitioned to the Sports and Exercise Science Department as an instructor in 2005, and was later promoted to Associate Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2013. His academic journey is equally impressive, featuring a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University, an M.S. in Education from Northeastern State University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Texas Tech University, which he earned in 2019.
Dr. Haasl taught undergraduate and graduate leadership courses at WT for several years and also served as the Faculty Director for Rogers LEAD WT from 2018 to 2025. Rick's wife, Lora, is the Director of Academic Technology at WT. They have one daughter, Terra, who is a Pediatric Dentist in Dallas, and two beautiful granddaughters, Sylvie Clara and Lucia Pearl.
