Richard and Mary West Traylor Research Grant in Learning Disabilities

The Richard and Mary West Traylor Grant in Learning Disabilities has been established in collaboration with the WTAMU Center for Learning Disabilities to increase service and scholarly activities for students with learning disabilities. Richard Traylor and Mary West Traylor made a generous contribution in memory of Geneva Schaeffer and in honor of Stanley Schaeffer. Mary West Traylor was a dear friend of Geneva. Mary Nan West, Mary West Traylor’s mother, was the first woman to become the President of the Texas A&M Board of Regents, and was serving in that capacity when WT joined the A&M System. She was instrumental in the university being able to retain “West Texas” in the name. The Piehl Family generously committed to match the Traylor gift as a tribute to Geneva and Stanley Schaeffer, an in support of research grants in learning disabilities.

The WTAMU Center for Learning Disabilities accepts applications from WTAMU undergraduate and graduate students and/or faculty from all disciplines for research grants in learning disabilities in the spring semester.
