- Career Aspirations: After earning my bachelor’s degree, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Biology with a focus on neurogenetics. I am particularly interested in studying neurodegenerative diseases and the role genetics plays in their development and progression. Ultimately, I hope to build a career in research and potentially pursue a career in academia. I would like to contribute to our understanding of neurological disease while also having the opportunity to mentor future scientists.
“The most valuable part of my McNair experience was solidifying my interest in pursuing a Ph.D. and challenging the limitations I had placed on myself about what I am capable of achieving. Through the program, I became more confident in my ability to pursue graduate education while expanding on my ongoing research and growing as a researcher. I also greatly valued the friendships I formed within my cohort and the opportunity to connect with students from disciplines different from my own."
