Kayleigh Heath joined WT CRC in 2024. She served with the Sandhills Area Research Association (SARA) in a Capacity Builder role.

"My role has taught me many valuable skills around data collection, project building, networking and professional communication while also teaching me about important issues in the West Texas agricultural community."

Kayleigh’s role supported SARA’s growth and development through communication and outreach.

"Through my service, I've learned a lot about the issues that the farmers and ranchers in West Texas are facing. I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can about the sustainability projects that SARA is a part of that are aimed to help farmers and the environment."

Sara Walsh

Sara Walsh joined WT CRC in 2023. She served with We Find in Love in a Community Resource role.

Sara had a connection with her service site prior to joining WT CRC. In her role through CRC, she mentored, encouraged, and empowered We Find in Love’s beneficiaries through weekly meetings; coordinating trainings, classes, and support networks, and provided additional support by connecting beneficiaries to community resources, information, or additional services they may need.

"My service with WT CRC is everything I expected. Finding solutions and putting out fires. We are always growing as a program and working to find the best solution to make sure our values and mission are on track. Through my service I've learned our community trusts us! They come to us for help because of the relationships that we’ve built with them."

Caitlin Bartz

Caitlin Bartz joined WT CRC in 2024. She served with the WTAMU English, Philosophy, and Modern Languages Department in an English Mentor role.

"WT CRC is helping me out a lot when it comes to figuring out my post-college career plan, which is great. I've liked being in the classes in a different capacity and working directly with students. I've really been enjoying serving with CRC and I think that I've been growing as a person and a professional from it!"

Caitlin supported students in classrooms and through the Writing Center. She also provided academic coaching and connected students to resources to support their success.

"I love helping students and seeing the moment something clicks with them, as well as the moment they realize things aren't going to be as difficult as they may initially seem."

Chloe Barham

Chloe Barham joined WT CRC in 2024. She served with the WTAMU Cornette Library in a Library Community Resource role.

“My exposure to high school students from the more rural areas of the Texas Panhandle has made me realize how important outreach programs like the one at the Cornette Library are.”

Chloe helped build and implement outreach programs for local area high schools, provided support for student programs at the library, and created or assisted with workshops for the WT community and other designated communities.

“I know it may seem small, but I firmly believe the Cornette Library's outreach program is incredibly important to the success of Texas Panhandle college hopefuls. I am very passionate about local non-profits and service. Local issues are the pathway to solving ‘big picture’ issues, though I never had this awareness before being placed in an area of local service."
