The Community Resilience Corps (CRC) and the Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative (BHWI) operate as interconnected initiatives under the WTAMU College of Nursing & Health Sciences and the Office of Academic and Regional Collaboration. Together, they strengthen civic and professional infrastructure across the Texas Panhandle by integrating sustainable, community-driven initiatives, higher education systems, capacity-building, and workforce development pipelines to strengthen regional resilience and systems of care across the Texas Panhandle.

Community Resilience Corps (CRC)

The Community Resilience Cooperative/Corps (CRC) is a regional initiative designed to strengthen the capacity and resilience of rural and under-resourced communities across the Texas Panhandle. Operating as an umbrella hub, CRC integrates civic engagement, leadership development, and regional partnerships to build stronger, more connected organizations and communities.

A foundational pillar of the CRC is AmeriCorps, which serves as the "service engine" providing direct support to meet urgent community needs. Through its CRC Fellows program, the initiative focuses on strengthening organizational infrastructure and creating long-term stability that extends beyond federal funding cycles. Ultimately, the CRC works to uplift the region by developing leaders, strengthening local nonprofits, and expanding access to vital community resources.
