WT is Ready for Spring 2021

We are Ready for You!

The Graduate School at West Texas A&M University recognizes the ambiguity students and families currently face. Much has changed around us because of the pandemic. What has not changed is our commitment to the academic and health needs of our students. We are a student-centered institution providing a variety of resources to help working professionals continue their educational journey.

We are ready to adjust, as circumstances require.

As we saw in the spring, circumstances can arise that force change. The WT leadership is committed to a clear path forward, and will carry out the plans articulated in this message unless other authorities require modification.

WT will continue to be a place for you to safely learn, grow, and express yourself.
At WT, we are ready for the spring semester, and we are ready for you! Apply Now!

Dr. Walter Wendler, President of WT

We are ready for you to become part of our many academic programs, which are recognized with the highest levels of accreditation.

Academic Programs

Many of these programs have received specialized accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to upholding the quality standards of the profession.

Our spring semester will offer a full schedule of courses to meet the needs of every student. WT courses will continue to be offered in various “modes” (face-to-face, online, hybrid) as they have in the past. Since 1997, WT has been a leader in offering online education. Students who register early will have every opportunity to select the mode of learning that best fits them. Contact us to enroll!

Online Graduate Programs

Our online graduate programs rank among the best. These high rankings mean that the university has the infrastructure and expertise to provide quality programs under any circumstances.

We are ready for you to learn from committed and experienced WT faculty.

Committed & Experienced
In the spring, WT faculty will continue an over 100-year tradition of teaching, mentoring, and guiding that is crucial to a lifetime of success and fulfillment. The mode through which faculty teach students may change, but the commitment of WT faculty to our students will never waiver.

We are ready to make your educational choices for the fall more affordable.

WT awards approximately $4.8 million each year in scholarships to new and continuing students, with the average award totaling $1,200.

We are ready to prepare our graduates for career opportunities.

Career Opportunities

WT is committed to helping students obtain career opportunities in the current economic climate. WTAMU Career Services will be working with students with resume and interview skills, building professional networks, and connecting with potential employers. Companies will be connecting with students through the Career Center for interviews and internships.

We are ready to welcome you to the safest University campus in TX.

Safe Campus
The unique combination of campus and community culture, state-of-the-art facilities, campus safety, and health officers, have resulted in an outstanding and safe campus experience. WT was named the safest campus in Texas and among the top 10 safest campuses in the nation based on the U.S. Department of Education’s Campus Safety and Security and the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report.

We are ready to participate in athletic competition.

WT athletic venues lend to the practice of social distancing for fans. The new ticketing systems and facilities are already in place to help manage social distancing and attendance limits. If attendance to sporting events is limited, season ticket holders and students will be given preference regarding attendance.

We are ready to make COVID-19 mitigation a priority.

COVID-19 Mitigation

WT has and will continue to make decisions with the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff as the highest priority. The following are a few examples of the steps taken to assure campus safety:

  • Modified classes to adhere to recommended social distancing practices
  • Dining services are being changed and new disinfectant and cleaning protocols are in place
  • Face coverings are required to be worn by all individuals on campus
  • Door handles and other high touch surfaces have an antimicrobial covering, which kills surface-borne bacteria invented by WT researchers.
