Professional Profile
Marcus joined the College of Fine Arts and Humanities in 2008. He received a BFA in Graphic Design from West Texas A&M University in 1991, an MFA in Graphic Design from University of Tennessee in 1997. He taught Graphic Design at two other colleges for a total of 6 years and had practiced graphic design for 7 years in Nashville, TN before returning to WTAMU.
Teaching and Related Service
Marcus Melton teaches Graphic Design, Typography, Illustration, Senior Portfolio and Drawing.
His accolades include several American Advertising Awards and Best of Show. His work has appeared in Print Magazine Regional Design Annual and How Magazine Self Promotional Annual. He has exhibited work around the country and in the London Underground and has work in private and university collections.
Research and Creative Activity
Marcus Melton’s research interests include graphic design, motion design, projected imagery, poster culture and blurring the lines between disciplines.
