Dance Day & Virtual Submissions
WT Dance is now accepting undergraduate applications for the 2027–2028 Academic Year.
An audition is required for students interested in entering the Dance Program. Students must apply to West Texas A&M University and apply to WT Dance to be considered for the Program.
On-Campus Audition
Dance Day — November 13, 2026
Dance Program Auditions are conducted through our in-person DANCE DAY event scheduled for November 13, 2026. Dance Day is specifically tailored to students auditioning for the Dance Program and serves for dance scholarship consideration.
Prospective dance majors will take an audition class, tour the facilities, meet dance faculty and current students, participate in a Q&A, and see the Falling Into Dance Concert.

For students unable to audition through the Dance Day event, WT Dance will accept online auditions.
Prepare an audition reel using YouTube or Vimeo and follow the video submission requirements below.

Distance Audition Requirements
Prepare an audition reel using YouTube or Vimeo that includes the following:
01. Ballet Barre
With one hand on the barre and filmed from the side, demonstrate:
- Grand and demi plié
- Battement tendu
- Battement dégagé
- Grand battement exercises
- An Adagio including développé, passé and relevé
02. Ballet Centre Floor
Demonstrate centre floor combinations that include:
- Stationary pirouettes en dehors
- Stationary pirouettes en dedans
- Petit allegro
- Grand allegro
03. Additional Dance Genre
Include one combination from another dance genre (or two), such as:
Modern • Jazz • Tap • Contemporary • Hip Hop
04. Solo
Include a solo choreographed by you or another choreographer and performed in the studio or live performance.
The solo should not exceed 3 minutes. You may submit solos in more than one genre.
