Professional Profile

Mr. Behrmann is Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre in the Department of Art, Theatre, and Dance.  He earned his MFA from San Diego State University and his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. 

As a teacher in St. Louis, Bradley served as Director of Music at Notre Dame High School for ten years.  Now a bi-coastal artist, he splits his time between New York City and San Diego.  In addition to Notre Dame, he has taught at La Jolla Playhouse, San Diego State University, and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.  He has music directed at Missouri Baptist University and Southwest Illinois College.  He maintains private voice studios in NYC, San Diego, and St. Louis.

Bradley has performed with Moonlight Stage, San Diego Musical Theatre, St. Louis Shakespeare, R-S Theatrics, and Insight Theatre.  He made his Off-Broadway debut in April 2018 as Le Bret in   Cyrano de Bergerac.

Teaching and Related Service

At WTAMU, Mr. Behrmann teaches Musical Theatre I & II, Musical Theatre Repertoire, Acting I & II, Script Analysis, and Musical Theatre Direction & Choreography.

Research and Creative Activity

Mr. Behrmann is an active voice teacher and coach who specializes in preparing students for professional auditions.  His first original musical with collaborator Orin Johnson— Just Pretend—recounts the biblical story of Esther and premiered in June 2015.

His scholarly work focuses on the intersection of Broadway and popular music as charted through the Billboard Hot 100. He’s presented this research to the Musical Theatre Educators’ Association in Perth, Australia.
