The office of Sponsored Research Services (SRS) is a service unit reporting to the Vice President for Research and Compliance and Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Angela Spaulding. Our mission is to support West Texas A&M University researchers in securing external funding and providing expert advice and administrative services during the pre- and post-award stages of the sponsored research project. We are committed to providing our internal and external customers professional and responsive service at all times.­­

Limitless Space Institute: Interstellar Initiative (I2) Grants

WTAMU's Nick Flynn's S-STEM Proposal Awarded

West Texas A&M University is the recipient of a federal grant totaling almost $1 million through the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support the recruitment, retention and graduation of low-income students interested in careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  Dr. Nick Flynn, professor of biochemistry, wrote the grant proposal which helps fund scholarships for students in biology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, wildlife biology, chemistry and physics. Dr. Naruki Hiranuma Wins Coveted DOE-CAREER Award

Dr. Naruki Hiranuma, assistant professor of environmental sciences at West Texas A&M University, has received a CAREER award from the Department of Energy for his project, "Implications of Aerosol Physicochemical Properties Including Ice Nucleation at ARM Mega Sites for Improved Understanding of Microphysical Atmospheric Cloud Processes.” Read more about this award here and here Congratulations, Dr. Hiranuma!

WTAMU Faculty Researchers Benefit from Collaboration

With the assistance of Sponsored Research Services and Hanover Research, faculty members at WT have secured over $5.17 million in grant funding. Hanover provides support in key areas of proposal development and has success in attaining awards from a variety of agencies and entities. If you have interest in finding potential funding programs to support your area of research, submitting a research grant application, re-writing and re-submitting a previous proposal, or any other area related to external research grant funding, please contact SRS.

Travel notes: Mileage reimbursement rate is 58 cents per mile as of 1/1/2019.­ The University has adopted Mapquest for the official mileage reimbursement guide (some exceptions apply).­ Each travel voucher must have an attached copy of the Mapquest mileage calculation for mileage reimbursement.
