About the Initiative
The Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative (BHWI) advances WT’s regionally responsive, rural-serving mission by expanding, strengthening, and sustaining the behavioral health workforce across the Texas Panhandle. Guided by interdisciplinary leadership and Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR) priorities, BHWI focuses on recruitment, training, supervision, workforce resilience, and long-term sustainability. Through coordinated pathways, data-driven planning, and collaborative partnerships, BHWI supports students, practitioners, and communities while addressing urgent regional workforce gaps.
