CANYON, Texas — Deadline is Aug. 14 for regional companies looking to hire West Texas A&M University student employees.

WT’s Back-to-School Job Fair will run 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28 on the Charles K. and Barbara Kerr Vaughan Pedestrian Mall in the center of the Canyon campus.

Registration deadline for companies is 11:59 p.m. Aug. 14. There is a $50 fee to attend for Canyon/Amarillo employers and no cost for WT departments. Registration can be done at bit.ly/25wtbacktoschool.

During the come-and-go job fair as the 2025-2026 school year begins, students will look for part-time employment opportunities both on- and off-campus.

“We are excited to start the school year off with some great connections for both students and employers in the Amarillo and Canyon community,” said Sam Green, associate director of the WT Office of Career and Professional Services. “We look forward to keeping that momentum going throughout the semester during our future fairs as well.”

A full list of companies will be available to students at the registration link.

WT classes resume Aug. 25.

Upcoming job fairs include the Graduate and Professional Schools Fair on Sept. 10; the Fall Career and Internship Expo on Sept. 25; and Meet the Accountants on Nov. 13.

Meeting regional needs is a key component of the University’s long-range plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.

That plan is fueled by the historic One West comprehensive fundraising campaign, which reached its initial $125 million goal 18 months after publicly launching in September 2021. The campaign’s new goal is to reach $175 million by 2025; currently, it has raised more than $165 million.
