CANYON, Texas — The West Texas A&M University Alumni Association is taking area Buffs out to the ballgame.

The association and its Canyon-Amarillo Alumni Chapter will host the third annual WT Alumni at Hodgetown event May 30 at the ballpark, 715 S. Buchanan St. in Amarillo.

The Amarillo Sod Poodles will face off against the Frisco Rough Riders at 7:05 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Alumni will gather at the left field picnic patio.

Discounted tickets can be purchased here: mercury.wtamu.edu/alumni-events/.

Dinner and non-alcoholic drinks are included.

“WT Alumni at Hodgetown has become one of our local chapter’s most fun traditions,” said Ronnie Hall, executive director of the WT Alumni Association. “It’s a great opportunity to bring WT alumni together to connect with fellow Buffs and enjoy an exciting night watching the Sod Poodles.”

Maintaining strong community and alumni ties is a component of the University’s long-range plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.

That plan is fueled by the historic One West comprehensive fundraising campaign, which reached its initial $125 million goal 18 months after publicly launching in September 2021. The campaign’s new goal is to reach $175 million by 2025; currently, it has raised more than $165 million.
