The leadership history of Amarillo National Bank is an unbroken family tree. They've never sold out and never intend to. It began in 1892, when cattleman and early Amarillo settler B.T. Ware founded the bank that would become Amarillo National. His descendants have kept Amarillo National Bank in the family ever since.

Global Leader in Convenient Foods and Beverages
Pepsi-Cola was invented in 1893 by Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist in New Bern, North Carolina, who sold it at his drugstore soda fountain. Bradham originally called the drink "Brad's Drink", but renamed it Pepsi-Cola in 1898, combining "Pepsi" to advertise its supposed ability to relieve indigestion and "Cola" to refer to its flavor. The original formula included sugar, carbonated water, caramel, lemon and orange oils, kola nuts, nutmeg, and pepsin, an enzyme that aids digestion. Bradham founded the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1902 in the back room of his pharmacy.
Pepsi-Cola went bankrupt in 1923, but was bought by the Loft Candy Co. in 1931. In 1965, Pepsi-Cola merged with Frito-Lay, Inc. to form PepsiCo, a global company that now manufactures, distributes, and markets a wide range of food and beverage brands, including Pepsi-Cola, Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Mountain Dew, Quaker, and SodaStream. PepsiCo's mission is to create positive experiences for consumers through its products, which are enjoyed more than one billion times a day in over 200 countries.

It Started with a Pumpkin Patch...
The Nester family began a pumpkin farm in 2010, when the owners, Paige and George, decided to get some beehives to help pollinate their plants. Two hives turned into four, four turned into eight, and the rest is history!
George has a doctorate in Pharmacy and Paige has a teaching certificate in art and biology. Their love for science has turned into a love for beekeeping. They now run the farm full time along with help from family and friends. Their daughter, Blake Nester, has helped them run the farm since she graduated college and with the addition of an event space and Honey Buzz Winery, they're all very busy bees.

A new direction ensued in 1997 to diversify the bank’s assets to a more traditional commercial bank that would better serve the community’s needs.
2004 saw the bank continue to grow and expand into the Amarillo area with the opening of a loan production office. In October, 2006 the bank opened a full service branch in Amarillo to serve it’s vibrant, growing economy.
