WTAMU MEDIAMinds Wins Five Telly Awards

 

CANYON, Texas—MEDIAMinds at West Texas A&M University received four bronzes and a silver Telly at the 36th Annual Telly Awards. The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions and online commercials, video and films.

Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world. A prestigious panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition. The competition featured more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

• Serengeetee Rep Video Project—bronze award, Marketing Branded Content

• Faces of PASO Video—bronze award, Non-Broadcast Charitable/Not-for-Profit Video

• Enactus Spirit Video—bronze award, Non-Broadcast Student Promotional Video

• College of Business 2015 Welcome Video—bronze award, Online Commercial Student Video

"We believe it is important for our students to generate applied content before entering the job market," Dr. Amjad Abdullat, associate dean of undergraduate business programs and professor of computer information systems, said. "The projects completed by MEDIAMinds give students the opportunity to build a portfolio that shows a company advanced skills in the area of digital media production and advertising."

MEDIAMinds is a student organization in the College of Business that provides students enriched content creation and emerging media management experience. Digital production in the College of Business is facilitated by the Ray Bain Media Room in the Classroom Center. MEDIAMinds students involved in one or more of the 2015 Telly winning production crews are listed by hometown and major:
