WTAMU Ranks No. 5 on Top 25 Online Colleges List

CANYON, Texas—Best College Review has ranked West Texas A&M University at No. 5 in its Top 25 Online Colleges for 2017-2018. The University is one of four Texas schools listed in the recent ranking. WTAMU is at No. 5, followed by Sam Houston State University, No. 11, Lamar University, No. 19, the University of Texas at the Permian Basin, No. 22 and University of North Texas, No. 23.

The rankings were determined by data from U.S. News & World Report and university websites. An initial pool of 85 colleges and universities was reviewed and reduced for a rating and ranking methodology that looked at cost per credit hour, recognition for Best Online Bachelor’s Programs, customization options such as hybrid/online, full time/part time and a wow factor for unique features and/or programs.

WTAMU was ranked at No. 5 for offering a respectable list of online bachelor’s degree programs in a variety of different formats, including degree completion programs and hybrid programs as well as those offered 100 percent online. The University currently offers six undergraduate degrees and six graduate degrees entirely online with an additional two undergraduate and four graduate degree programs offered in a hybrid online format. WTAMU’s largest online degree program is the M.B.A. with more than 1,000 student enrolled for the fall semester.

As technology advances and modern life becomes busier, more and more students are looking for online programs to earn a degree. Colleges and universities are working hard to meet that demand by enhancing bachelor’s degree online offerings, and Best College Review’s listing is designed to help students find the college that best fits their needs.
