CANYON, Texas—He’s a best-selling author, motivational speaker, television personality and winner of the first season of The Apprentice and on Thursday, Sept. 11, the Distinguished Lecture Series at West Texas A&M University will welcome Bill Rancic in a presentation on entrepreneurship and business.

Rancic’s presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center, Legacy Hall. The event, sponsored by the College of Business, the WT Enterprise Center, Enactus and the Distinguished Lecture Series, is free and open to the public.

"This event brings the spirit of the entrepreneur to our campus," Dr. Leigh Browning, professor of business communication and marketing, said. "We have a responsibility as an institution of higher learning to model excellence, and Rancic’s success in business is a part of that excellence we want our students to emulate."

The Loyola University cum laude graduate was already a successful entrepreneur with his company Cigars Around the World when he found fame as the winner of Donald Trump’s NBC show "The Apprentice." The show opened doors for the talented businessman, and today he can be seen on the E! Entertainment reality series "Giuliana and Bill" and as host of "Kitchen Casino" on the Food Network. He also finds time to host "America Now" in partnership with ITV and Raycom Media, and television viewers also can catch him in appearances on various daytime shows.

Rancic also is a published author. His book, "You’re Hired: How to Succeed in Business and Life," is a New York Times best-selling book that looks at his success and experiences. Another book, "Beyond the Lemonade Stand," was written with young people in mind and educating them about the value of money. Proceeds from the book benefit charities. Rancic also teamed up with his wife Giuliana to co-author a book about love called "I Do . . .  Now What."

The WTAMU presentation will be one of many he has made around the country as he shares his story of success beginning with the pancake business he started at the age of 10 with his grandmother to his current multi-million dollar real estate enterprise in Chicago.
