New Student Orientation

Register here for NSO!  If you register after 5:00 on August1, you will be considered a walk-in for New Student Orientation. This means that you will not be assigned a group number or be printed a name-tag until you arrive at New Student Orientation check-in on Thursday, August 3rd at 8:00 am.

If you are reading this you meet the following criteria:Register for Orientation

  1. You are a recent (or soon to be) high school graduate
  2. You have not enrolled and received twelve hours of credit at another university or college after you graduated from high school
  3. You may have obtained dual credit while in high school

What is New Student Orientation (NSO)?

It's time to discover new places, meet new friends, and develop new interests. This summer, you will have the opportunity to start the next chapter in your life by attending New Student Orientation at West Texas A&M University.­

When is New Student Orientation?

WTAMU offers 6 new student orientations throughout the summer.  Registration for NSO will open on March 1.  Registration for each date will cap at 250 students.  If a date is no longer available on the list when you register, then it is full.

NSO Dates: June 8-9, June 15-16, June 22-23, July 6-7, July 27-28, August 3-4







Who Must Attend?

All new students to our University that have been admitted must attend New Student Orientation.­. Attendance at an orientation is required for all incoming freshmen. To verify your admission status, call­1.800.99.WTAMU. (For more guest information, click here.)

Should you need to change your reservation, click here. Cancellations must be made seven days prior to orientation.

A single fee of $150 covers all student costs associated with your orientation and will go on your first long semester's bill.­ Parents and guardians are welcome to join you for the NSO ­portion of orientation. One guest is included in the NSO fee; additional guests are $50. Other things you need to know about NSO:

  • Students are required to attend all programming during their NSO session. Failure to do so will prevent students from registration.­­­­­­­­
  • Family and guests are also welcome and invited to attend orientation.
  • Guest sessions run concurrent to the student schedule.

Tentative schedule coming soon.  All Freshmen need to be prepared to be on campus for Orientation from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm on Thursday and 8:00 am - 5:00 pm on Friday.
