- MUSI 6205, 6241, 6312, 6281.
Required Music Courses for Emphasis
Recital Option
Applied music (minimum of two semesters, eight semester hours maximum), MUSI 6203, graduate-level music courses to equal 30 semester hours.
Thesis Option (Prose Thesis, Transcription or Composition)
MUSI 6301 and 6302, applied music optional (eight semester hours maximum), graduate-level music courses to equal 30 semester hours.
Non-Thesis Option
Applied music optional (eight semester hours maximum), graduate-level music courses to equal 36 semester hours.
Other Requirements
Each semester the music major is enrolled in nine semester hours or more (four semester hours or more in a summer session), the student must enroll in a major ensemble.
Comprehensive Examination
Candidates will be required to pass an oral examination over the thesis or the literature in their recital, depending on the option selected, and the major field of study.
