What is the Buffalo Gold Card "Band & Orchestra Camp Card"? The Band & Orchestra Camp Card, aka Buff Card or Buffalo Gold Card, will be provided in the registration packet at check-in. Your Band & Orchestra Camp Card/Buffalo Gold Card identifies you as a participant in the WTAMU Band & Orchestra Camp and reflects your camp identification number. The card shows that you are on the WTAMU campus as part of the Band & Orchestra Camp and is issued to you by Band & Orchestra Camp personnel. This card will also serve as the meal card, and will give access to the dorm lobbies for all campers. It will also be used to get into various rehearsal sites and for access to the Activity Center for recreation. If lost, there is a $10 replacement cost.

Campers who are ill will be seen by our on-staff nurse. If further medical attention from a physician is deemed necessary, campers will be taken to the Family Medicine Center of Canyon during normal working hours. One of our staff members will contact a parent or legal guardian before taking the student to the clinic, will remain with the student at the doctor's office, and will bring the student back to campus. If a student must take prescription medicine, we would prefer that the student be responsible for its administration, although we will provide assistance if needed. Should a camper require medical attention after normal working hours, we will take the student to the evening facility, CareXpress, which is part of the Family Medicine Center of Canyon. Family Medicine Center doctors are on call with CareXpress. Again, we will call the parents or legal guardians.
Students are expected to pay for medical services when rendered.

The West Texas A&M University Police Department would like to welcome you to campus for Band & Orchestra Camp 2024. This year, the WTAMU Police Department is continuing the Operation LockOut Theft program for Band Camp students. The Operation LockOut Theft program gathers serial numbers and other identifying information for the most common stolen and lost property that will be brought on campus by the students.
Examples of this property include: musical instruments, cell phones, laptop computers, other digital devices, and bicycles. By having the serial number information on file, it will aid in the identification of property which will facilitate the identification of specific property, should it be missing or stolen. Participation in this crime prevention effort is voluntary, but highly encouraged.
We will again be using an online form to collect the information about your important personal belongings.
When filling out the online form, please provide complete information regarding name, item, model, and serial number or other identifying information. Some places to find serial numbers for cell phones and laptop computers are in the battery compartment or on the back/bottom of those items. Many Apple products (iPads, iPhones, etc.), newer tablets, and newer smart phones have the serial number on the back or in the “settings” option in the menu. Bicycles typically have the serial number in more than one place, under the crank, on the seat tube, on the head tube (above the front wheel), and on or under the rear wheel mount. Items without serial numbers can be marked with an owner applied number of your choosing.
If you have any questions or concerns or need further direction, please contact the WTAMU Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 806-651-2300, or email questions to wtpolice@wtamu.edu.
The University Police Department and/or Office of Communication and Marketing Services, in coordination with the President, issues Crime Alerts when an event occurs that may pose a known and foreseeable danger to members of the WTAMU community or their property. These warnings may be issued via e-mail, posted fliers, social media posts, or media announcements.
Visit the below website to view alerts, or follow WT Police Department’s social media platforms to stay informed of campus safety and security notifications.
