Dr. Robin Patterson, Patterson Professor of Business Law
Online MBA in Healthcare Management
The Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management at West Texas A&M University combines advanced business strategy with a specialized focus on the healthcare industry. Unlike general business programs, healthcare MBA programs prepare students to address the complex administrative, financial, and operational challenges faced by hospitals, clinics, private practices, and healthcare systems.
In this program, students learn to apply business principles to real-world healthcare settings. The curriculum covers key areas such as healthcare finance, policy and law, organizational leadership, and information systems. Electives in healthcare marketing, communications, and IT planning allow students to tailor their studies with specific career interests and goals.
Flexible Format
Completing a graduate degree while maintaining a career in healthcare requires flexibility and balance. Among leading online healthcare MBA programs, WT’s structure allows students to complete coursework asynchronously, engaging with materials and submitting assignments at times that best fit into their schedules.
Students determine their individual course load each semester, choosing from four available terms each year:
- Fall: Late August – November
- Spring: Mid-January – April
- Summer 1: June – early July
- Summer 2: Mid-July – August
This format enables students to progress through the program at their own pace – accelerating their studies during lighter work periods or slowing down when professional or personal demands increase.
