"My first year at WT has been amazing. I met many new influential people and have made a strong friend group. I have also had the best professors who make learning easy and fun.

If I could give any advice to a future student, I would tell them to join any organization they find interesting! West Texas A&M has many different groups to join. Sign up for one and if it becomes too busy for your schedule you can always take a step back from it. Organizations are a great way to meet new people and find new friends. I would also say make time for things that are important. Go see family, take a relaxation day make time for your hobbies. College is filled with fun and hanging out with people, but you cannot let that distract you. Don't forget to prioritize your schoolwork and remember why you are here."

"I have loved my time at WT! Coming from Alaska, it was quite a far jump to Canyon, Texas, but I can definitely say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The friendships and community I have built will last a lifetime. I am so thankful to the WT community for welcoming me with open arms and giving me an irreplaceable undergraduate experience. From providing me a great on-campus job for three years, helping me garner impactful internship experiences with the U.S. Foreign Service, WT has provided me with several avenues to grow and develop my leadership and professional skills. I have also made extremely impactful connections with my professors, mentors, and the great staff at WT who have encouraged and supported me every step of the way."

"Ever since I toured the campus, I fell in love with it. It was exactly what I was looking for in a college and once I found out about all the clubs/orgs, and events that are here, I knew that WT was the college for me. An org that I’m a part of is called The Darlings of West Texas. This semester I had the privilege of becoming a treasurer for the org and became even more involved in WT. We are a group based on Molly Goodnight and strive to accomplish her goals and beliefs in campus life such as community service. My favorite memory from the Darlings is when we had a Halloween movie night! I highly recommend checking out what the Darlings are about and how you can become one! WTAMU has impacted me for the better! Since coming here I have gotten more involved socially and experienced so many great opportunities in and outside of school. It's only my first year here and I have already accomplished so many great things and can’t wait to see what I can do next at WT."
