Professional Profile
Dr. DePue joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in 2026. She received a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Management from Tarleton State University in 2012, an M.S. in Management and Leadership from Tarleton State University in 2001, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Research from Texas Tech University in 2020. She has been the Associate Director of Institutional Research at WT since 2020 and specializes in higher education data, student outcomes, institutional reporting, and data visualization.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. DePue is passionate about helping students understand how data, business concepts, and analytical thinking can be applied beyond the classroom. Her teaching emphasizes practical applications of data and business concepts, with the goal of helping students develop the skills, confidence, and analytical mindset needed to succeed in their future careers.
Her professional experience in higher education, institutional research, data analytics, assessment, career services, and business operations provides a broad perspective that she brings into the classroom. She enjoys connecting academic concepts to real-world applications and helping students recognize how analytical skills can be valuable across a variety of professional settings.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. DePue's research interests include higher education outcomes, college graduate employment, student debt, post-graduate success, organizational behavior, workplace communication, and the use of data to support institutional decision-making. Her research examines factors that contribute to student and graduate success and explores how data can be used to better understand and address challenges facing students and higher education institutions.
Dr. DePue has published research in the International Journal of Educational Management and the Journal of Social Media in Society. In addition to her scholarly publications, she served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Social Media in Society for nine years. Her scholarly and professional work reflects her broader interest in higher education, data-informed decision-making, organizational effectiveness, and the ways in which data can be transformed into meaningful insights for students, professionals, and institutions.
Personal Sketch
Dr. DePue enjoys spending her free time reading, exploring new recipes and cooking, and staying active through running. She enjoys a good board game and is always up for a little friendly competition.
