The Numbers Point to the Bottom Line

If you are the kind of person who likes to color within the lines, Accounting may just be the answer to your career needs. After all, Accounting is all about following very explicit legal parameters. The tax code changes on a regular basis, for both individuals and companies. It’s can be a nightmare trying to navigate these ever-changing waters, which helps explain why the Accounting profession is evergreen and virtually recession-proof.

As long as there are taxes, we will always need accountants. And as long as companies need to report their sales and profits to investors, we will need accountants. Can anyone say job security?

Once you are grounded in the principles of both financial and cost accounting, you will move on to cutting edge topics in this dynamic field. The profession is rapidly becoming just as technologically dependent as most other functions within business. In the post-Enron world in which we find ourselves, ethics are now front and center. And taxes are not likely to go away any time soon.

Accounting is the perfect career choice for anyone who is detail-oriented. Keep it between the lines, and you will prosper, because every individual, company, and organization needs you.
